We are looking for multiple freelancers to help us test the usability of file download feature on a medical 3D printing model sharing website. No special experience with website usability testing is required, as we want to see how ordinary people interact with the site. The freelancer will have a simple task, such as finding and downloading a specific type of model file from the website. We are interested in seeing how people who have never visited our website are able to navigate and find what theyre looking for. You will be required to answer several questions after completing the task. It should take less than 30 minutes for somebody to find what theyre looking for and complete the job.
In order for us to learn how ordinary people navigate our website, you will need to do a screen capture of your computer screen and voice narration of your entire experience from the moment you first go to the website, to the end when you successfully download your target model file. As you browse and navigate the site, talk about what seems clear and what is confusing, and how you plan to find your target file and wide. In other words, talk to yourself as you navigate the site. It doesnt matter how easy or how difficult it is for you to find your target file. The important thing is for us to understand the experience of someone who has never visited our website before.
The deliverable is the screen capture with voice narration, which will be in a standard video format such as MP4. You will also have to answer several questions about your experience. There are no right answers, we just want your opinion. In fact we dont want you to prepare or go back and look when answering the questions.
You may have to sign up for a free account on the website to access required features, and this may require validation of your email account. If you do not feel comfortable with recording this, you can pause the screen capture during this step and then turn it back on once you have completed the registration step.
Requirements: A modern computer and fast Internet connection.
Special Skills: Ability to create a computer screen capture video with voice narration. The job can be done on any kind of computer, Mac or PC. A microphone will be helpful. No other special skills are required.
Language: command of English so that narration can be done in English.
Other items: Expected time commitment for job: about 30 minutes
We will pay a one-time flat fee of $20 to each freelancer upon delivery of the screen capture video.
