Technical Delivery Management - Have a strong understanding of the technical aspects of the project; you must have prior experience in technical role, e.g. software engineer or quality assurance. Your ability to drive the team in the same direction with limited input from Product Owners will be a critical success factor
- Lead Project Planning and Management - Organize and Define sprint backlog with the Product Owner; keep project stakeholders in check to ensure no scope creep happens. Must have the ability to quantify impact of new scope items and update delivery plan with the deviations; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects
- Scrum Master - As the Scrum Master lead the sprint planning and execution efforts with the Product Owner on the overall sprint planning; must have experience leading sprints using JIRA
- Product Owner Support - Support the Product Owner in managing the delivery of the backlog items, provide effective project governance
- Stickler for hitting milestones
Qualifications:
- Strong background as a Technical Project Manager delivering either a web or mobile application (or a legacy software application) using Agile/Scrum (CSM or equivalent certification preferred)
- Strong technical background such as a software engineer or quality assurance engineer
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge
- Ability to lead a team of strong technical resources located in 2 different time zones; comfort and flexibility to take calls in the evening or early mornings; ability manage strong opinionated technical team members while driving the team forward
- Experience overseeing multi-function project teams with at least 5+ team members including Developers, Business Analysts, and QA Person
- 3+ years of experience in managing developer teams LAMP etc.
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Project Manager
- Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching and collaborating
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
- Proven ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met
- Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level
- Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the big picture view
