Website Migration Tasks

Migrate Wordpress site redesign from Bluehost (demo server) to Hawk Host VPS (client server) to replace an already established website. Demo will be hosted in different server than original site. I have access to domain but not to old website files or hosting. Interested in preserving SEO ranking from old site when installed in client server(new). Also need to make sure company mails are working fine. Company uses Office 360.

The following tasks are also need to be done\u2026

- SEO
Compare old site with new. Make sure client dont lose SEO ranking. Check 404 pages and make redirects from old ones.

- Install SSL in new host.

- Email set up.
Make sure company mail works on new server. Company uses Office 360. Maybe no set up of

- Test your Links- See if any links are broken.

- Title and Description- Get a quick snapshot of all of your title and description attributes via and be on the lookout for titles that are too long (keep under 55 characters), too generic, or duplicate.

- Check Image alt descriptions and loading- Check and make sure you have images optimized.

- Test Forms- Manually test every form on the site to make sure they are functioning as planned.

- Favicon- test to see that your Favicon is showing browser

-Check NAP with Schema- Verify that name, address and other contact data is correct and correctly formatted with Schema code - Check out schema.org for information on this.

- Check your 404 pages

- Check your 301 redirects- If you had to create a new URL structure, test a few key pages from your old site URL structure to make sure they are redirecting as expected.

- Check your XML site map- Make sure its rendering correctly.

- Test Social contact- Test out all social icons to make sure they are taking people where you want them to go.

- Email migration- Make sure your email is set up properly with new host.

- Point Your DNS- Now that youve tested the major elements of you site redesign its time to push it live or point the domain to your new hosting nameservers.
