Minimum Viable Product - Goals/Timeline Interface for Users

Without sharing too much information on the product, we would like to give users the ability to answer a few questions to set up their timeline (which could be as long as 3-4 years), have goals that they can easily update and track their progress on (there are about 10-15 different tasks that will be standardized across all users, possibly with an ability to add custom tasks), and then give them reminders on tasks/goals that are almost due or that they are behind on. So this would require a very basic design on the front end to add to our current website, and (I assume, but not sure of the exact lingo) some back end work to create and maintain a database of users and their timeline.
