Moving to AWS - need migration and initial setup

Were a small design/development agency looking for a server engineer to help us migrate our web properties from LAMP stacks on Linode to a fully-redundant setup on AWS. I am currently our server admin and have made some plans on AWS but could use the help in understanding what our best options might be. Because I have a lot of other stuff on my plate right now, I just dont have the time to research this myself.

There are a few clusters we currently have that will remain as simple LAMP stacks. However, there are a couple clusters we will be migrating to the App/Web/DB server model.

Our team is pretty laid back (deadlines are still important, though) and like to have fun with our work so you need to bring your sense of humor with you. You should also be able to communicate well in English (speaking and writing) and be able to have audio calls via Skype while this project is on-going. Your time-zone isnt that important, everyone on our team works remotely from all over the place. As long as you can be available for real-time messaging (or occasional planned calls) for a few hours during our workday then we can make it work. Being able to have real-time conversations speeds up projects tremendously. Our typical workday is weekdays between 8am-5pm Central Standard Time (or UTC -6)

You need to be able to write clean, ACCESSIBLE, and maintainable code that is well documented. You also need to be able to solve problems and think for yourself, and be willing to spend a little extra time to do the job properly. This isnt a project for temporary hacks or quick fixes. Well help you however we can and make sure you have everything you need for the work, but we dont have time to hold your hand or micro-manage :) Along those lines, if you see a better way to do something than how we are suggesting, we want you to speak up! We prefer opinionated people!

Bonus points if you are comfortable writing custom migration scripts (otherwise, Ill be the one handling this).
