MySQL expert (working with multiple servers remotely connecting to one dB) + China experience

I have an online game for learning English. I often experience strange problems so in order to ensure users can always use the game I have multiple servers running different versions of the script but they all connect to one dB remotely

I recently obtained an ICP in order to have a server inside China (all servers are currently in Hong Kong)

I would like to start using this server however remote MySQL connection between the China server and the dB in Hong Kong is slow even when the server is located very close to the Hong Kong server. Ping time is around 50ms

I would like an expert with experience to give me a consult on how to move forward. Ideally one server for everything is the best way, I know this but I dont want to put all my eggs in one basket as it were just in case

Further there are likely many other SQL queries that arent as efficient as they should be so could use help with those also

This would be a potentially long term job but not very often. Just good to have someone I can have a consult with from time to time to help with issues

In your cover letter convince me you have the experience to warrant your high rate as I expect the person I want for this task wont be cheap. I dont mind paying a higher rate but the person needs to be worth the rate. Perhaps give me some examples of projects in the past, how you helped them . Hopefully similar scenarios.
