Precision industrial measurement systems | PLC integration to our systems

Our Systems manufactures precision thickness measurement and inspections systems for industry. Overall we are mix of custom; precision mechanical engineering and custom; software development in both high level PC languages and a range PLC brands/protocols.
We have an ongoing need for someone flexible and willing to learn to contribute to our entry level PLC configuration and programming needs, escalating to factory connectivity of our systems to the factory systems via PLC protocols.
The first (small) project is a simple setup of a mechanical winder controlled by an Automation Direct PLC. Need a basic program written that will wind the material with configureable speed and tension.
A second project will be to implement a control loop using the output from our measurement system to control two servo motors to open and close a rolling mill. The overall system will monitor roll-speed and web presence sensors in its logic. (we have a PLC code that is already running, this is our clients second system- need to test and tweak that code as needed prior to shipping)

We dont necessarily need or want someone who has all the answers, we have a deep bench on our team with experience to consult and guide these projects. We are looking for someone local, good at solving problems, and willing to contribute to the team in the PLC/software/mechanical design realm.
