This role will be the link between our company and our suppliers. Procurement Specialist responsibilities include strategising to find quality and cost-effective deals and suppliers that are able to dropship products directly from the manufacturer or an agent at the lowest cost and highest variety of quality products. The Procurement Specialists duty is to discover the best ways to find the best products for our customers and clients and cut procurement expenses, so that the company can invest in growth and people.
Note that we are not looking for fulfillment services but a coordinator that can source the best deals with dropshippers for individual products to be sent directly to the customer.
Strategy
- Devise and use fruitful sourcing strategies
- Create company procurement policies and procedures
- Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
- Suggesting products and categories of products to be sold by us
Sourcing
- Discover profitable and high-quality suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
- Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
- Ensure product quality standards are met
- Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
Analysis & Data Handling
- Maintaining accurate records of purchases and pricing
- Examine and test existing contracts
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
- Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
- Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
- Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
Reporting & Communication
- Produce and present regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Other
- Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications and social media.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven minimum 5 years working experience as a Procurement Specialist, procurement Officer or Procurement Manager.
- Fluent English
- Native Chinese or fluent in Chinese and good understanding of culture and business practices
- Experience in IPTV, AV and electronic product environment is advantageous
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in reading the market
- Experience in sourcing from Alibaba and AliExpress
- Expert talent in negotiations and networking
- Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software
- Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
- Strong analytical skills and mathematical acumen
- Strong relationship building capabilities
- An understanding of various cultures and languages helps break down barriers when dealing with international clients, as we operate globally
- Ability to work with a multi-national team environment
- Additional languages are a plus
- Pro-active and independent
- Self-motivation and a results-driven attitude
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to prioritize and time manage
