Seeking a developer To Deploy a privately-hosted Version Of an open source Ruby on Rails site To A Cloud Hosting Provider


We are a consulting firm seeking a developer to deploy code from our private fork of an open source software project. The project has two parts, a website front-end and an API backend, both written in ruby on rails.

The main goal of this project is to deploy a forked version of the software and get it up and running in production. After the initial version of the site is deployed, we may have additional work adding customization

Our expert will need to these repositories and deploy them on a cloud hosting provider (preferably Heroku or Amazon Web Services) with the goal of having a reliable site with low ongoing maintenance.

The ideal candidate understands of ruby on rails, views him or herself as a teacher whos willing to explain the steps he/she took, and has plenty of experience with best practices around databases, software development, and deployment including: using environment variables for configuration, setting up monitoring, and testing.

Skills & Qualifications

Experience with git, heroku or AWS, ruby on rails, and sql-databases
Experience working with open source software
Ability to adhere to deadlines
Clear written and verbal communication
Ability to implement instructions and take ownership of the project
Understands industry best practices & implements them in the work
