Marcus Tan is a Malaysian born flutist and educator. He started to learn euphonium and erhu at the age of 13. After finishing his secondary school, he picked flute as his major instrument for his further studies.
Marcus holds a Bachelor Degree in Music from Tunghai University in Taiwan. As the recipient of an exchange program grant in his university, he studied chamber music and flute ensemble at North Park University, United States. During his undergraduate studied in Taiwan, Marcus has participated in flute masterclass by international flutists.
Returning homeland from study abroad, Marcus has been performing actively with the local musicians. Besides performing, Marcus is a passionate and dedicated teacher too. He has been teaching in the international school as a secondary general music teacher. For him, there is really nothing better than seeing his students eager to learn.
