Video Writer and Presenter

Cancer Monthly needs a person to help outline and deliver supportive and caring videos. These helpful videos of 5-10 minutes each will be about cancer. The purpose is to provide helpful information to cancer patients and their families. Each video will focus on a specific topic such as how to find the best treatments, how to find the best specialists, how to provide emotional support, how to stay organized, ways to decrease stress, etc. The videos will be live on Facebook and we will provide exact guidelines on structure.

Applicants Need:
Be over 35 years of age
Have an empathetic personality - its important that your caring comes through
Be confident - this will help the viewer trust what you have to say
Have some connection to cancer so you can speak from your heart - you or a loved one has struggled or is struggling with cancer
Story Telling is key - You need to be good storyteller, to be able to create a story around content you read. For example, I was reading an article about x the other day and it reminded me of this one time....(insert story)


Responsibilities include:
Scripting these videos - we will train in the beginning, but the expectation is that you can outline this videos yourself after doing 3 or 4 with us
Recording the videos on your smart phone selfie style. A warm background will be important such as a living room or kitchen etc. The setting can change between videos.
These videos are low-fi. No editing necessary. Conversational tone. Natural.

Compensation:
We would like to have 20 videos a month. Compensation is approximately $75 per video or $1,500 per month. We expect each video would take an hour to produce (outline and record) after the first few.
