7 productivity hacks for freelancers to be more time efficient

Productivity does not mean to work whole day and night. It simply means how much you are getting of that time you spent on your desk. Freelancing jobs could be little hard to manage as you work on multiple projects but if you are spending your desk time effectively, it would be a fun. Working from home is a wonderful dream, but it could also become hard as the home gives a feeling of home means a place where you can relax.

These tips will help you to get maximum out of the time you spend on your desk:

1.Turn off social media

It is insanely tough to concentrate while social media notifs are on. All of us know this fact and still don’t take it seriously. When you are concentrating on something important, just a little tiny beep of your smartphone distracts your attention from everything and make you want to check it. Even if you don’t check it, your mind will be curious to solve the beep puzzle.

Turn off your social media notifications. You would become more productive. Once you get some free time you can check them all.

2. Ignore the perfectionist inside you

In freelancing world, it is somewhat better not to be perfectionist in everything. It is not wise to spend so much time just to optimize one thing that actually don’t make a difference. It does not mean you should take work lightly, but remember this ‘complete Perfection is a myth’.

Anything you think is perfect, might be nothing more than average for others. So there is no point investing your time in tiny details which don’t make a difference. Make it the best you can, but if you try to make it ‘perfect’, you are actually losing your precious time.

3. Breakfast and water

It is no brainer to know the importance of good nutrition. Taking healthy food on time all day long is good but miss your breakfast, everything is ruined. A good breakfast gets you started and keeps up your energy level for whole day.

Drinking fresh water has tons of advantages. Keep drinking water with you everywhere. Stay hydrated and you won’t fall sick any time soon.

4. Get good sleep

Take good sleep in night. Though it is different for everyone but it is good to take 7-9 hours sleep every night. Remember, human body is not designed to have 8 hours sleep at once, but to have 4 hours sleep twice in a day. Those little power naps in the afternoon actually make you more productive.

5. Exercise

Exercise in the morning can make you much more productive. You might feel tired after exercise but it is a proven fact that your day will be much more productive if you start it with exercise. Routine work out keeps you healthy and your brain works faster relatively.

6. Take breaks

Instead of working long hours, take small breaks after every couple of hours. Reward yourself some break time to get refreshed. Have fresh air or coffee or a walk anything that works for you is good.

Working in slots is much more effective than working whole day. Other benefit is you can simply schedule your tasks depending on priorities. Take a break after completing every important task, it won’t only energize you for the next but helps you clear your mind from the last task.
