Idea: I represent a group of old gamers seeking to hire a programmer so he/she can create a program that could do a few things:
1. A global installer from which you could install a platform allowing you to download and install 4-5 older (abandonware) games. We can provide a server for this.
a. This platform would consist of a lobby from which you could organize/launch those games and play them online through a LAN connection. A bit like (GameSpy Arcade) back in the day but something with a much smaller scope.
Optional: If we could launch this platform, once installed, from a web site, this would be icing on the cake.
Challenges: We understand that this is possibly a huge task, and are open to any recommendation from you to adapt our project in order to make more accessible. We were thinking of a Hamachi-like program dedicated for those 4-5 games that would allow anyone to easily play through LAN. As we expect that to use the multiplayer features of those different program would be a more serious challenge. The goal is to allow our group to easily play those 4-5 games and integrate this platform with our forums as to revitalize a once thriving gaming community.
Every dedicated game could be made available through FTP transfer.
Can you help us, and how much would such a program cost us?
Thank you.
