We have a MediaWiki installation on a Ubuntu linux box on AWS, with a MySQL database on AWS. We've uploaded a lot of articles to the database and installed the plugins and extensions to the MediaWiki code.
The problem now is the search feature. We get vastly different search results, and some searches take more than 5 minutes.
I read that the search feature for MediaWiki has changed to Elasticsearch:
https://blog.wikimedia.org/2014/01/06/wikimedia-moving-to-elasticsearch/MediaWiki uses ElasticSearch via a plugin called CirrusSearch:

However this doesn't seem to work. We can set up an ElasticSearch server on AWS.
We'd like someone to fix our search on this MediaWiki so that it is fast, or at least < 30seconds for a search. The results should be fixed. Or, if this is not possible, we will accept a detailed explanation of the problem and what our options are. With sufficient work/investigation, we're happy to close the project successfully.
