Required software development freelancer for Intermittent RDP disconnects - Win 2012 R2 - Socket Errors # 10054, 10060 job

We have a Windows Server 2012 R2 and our users who work remotely (not in our LAN), get intermittent RDP disconnects... it usually reconnects right away, but is not handy. It seems to get worse after the server has been running for several days. Note: We do run some applications that heavily use TCP/IP for communicating data between apps. In one of those apps in particular, when we have the RDP issues, I sometimes see Socket Error # 10054 or 10060. Looking for someone who is experienced with fixing this issue. I thought maybe the # of tcp ports available was not enough so I increased the range with netsh int ipv4 set dynamicport tcp start=1025 num=64511 but that still did not help. My Lan adapter is a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. (1G I believe)
