We require an experienced systems engineer to develop our AWS infrastructure and deployment methods. The position's responsibilities will include setting up a VPC and VPN, sharding database information, replicating database information across multiple server regions, deploying components to allow for parallel programming, setting up deployment pipelines on Bitbucket, deploying multiple services, linking the site to a paid URL, and creating an API gateway to direct traffic towards the correct services. This position requires knowledge of services based application architectures, databases (SQL), AWS, systems architecture, and security. The engineer will work with the backend team to accomplish certain tasks but will be primarily independent with standup meetings and checkins on a daily basis. The project will be supervised by the lead backend engineer who will provide further requirement details upon hiring.
