The BI Developer will help deliver a reporting solution for 2 national clients. This will be a full-time position, paid monthly. He/she will be in charge of helping formulate the reporting strategy, developing, implementing and monitoring the ultimate solution. The BI dev will work closely with the rest of the team in order to architect a SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) / Azure Analysis Services (AzAS) solution primarily using Tabular Editor and the Dax language.
The reporting outcome will be differentiated outputs for 3 levels of stakeholders: executive, management, and operational.
The BI Developer will work with the ETL / DBA team members, and also support the Front End and UX team. Some report writing is expected, however, the primary responsibilities are centered around producing and maintaining a pristine data model.
The team is entirely remote and geographically dispersed, therefore documentation and communication have to be natural. Tools such as Slack / GIT / Confluence / JIRA / Zoom / etc, as well as regular video calls and touch-ins, are expected and required.
The BI Developer ideally can support beautiful (bonus points for familiarity with Tufte, or similar) or investment banking quality visuals as a final output. Graphical design support will be provided.
If you have existing work product or Dax code to showcase...please share! The BI developer is a critical role on the team, and significant support will be provided to the individual selected. A large premium will be placed on competency/skillset.
The tech stack is expected to change and mature into more cutting-edge / complex solutions with time and team success. The BI developer is expected to lean in and heavily influence this process.
Please state which time zone you are in and whether you are able/willing to work Dallas timezone hours. Please state whether you can accommodate a Tuesday to Saturday working schedule (this is not a requirement for the position).
This role requires a full-time commitment and having an existing job/client likely excludes you from consideration.
The hiring process will consist of a first-round interview, a small technical test (all paid), and a final round of interviews. There will be a 1.5 month evaluation period before a full-time offer is formally extended.
This position requires energy and resourcefulness.
Compensation is expected to be $1,175 to $1,950 per month, depending on the qualifications and ability of the candidate to contribute to the group's success. Please indicate either your last compensation or where you believe you fit in the compensation range.
