I'd like to enlist the help of IT, legal, economic, and accounting professionals to research the impact of technology on economic digitization that address the following questions:
1. Is consumer data considered digital assets of consumer legally and economically?
2. Does current accounting system recognize such digital assets?if not, how to address that?
3. How to prevent business from misusing and manipulating such digital assets of consumer?
4. How to trace such a potential violation within a enterprise for best practice?
5. How can consumers have access to evidence of violation without pursuing legal action?is there a third party mechanism possible to resolve such dispute? such as a digital rating system to evaluate a business's data security measure to meet legal standard if available
6. To what extent should a customer service or PR representative be held accountable for covering up such violation or just beautifying its own mistakes. to what extent should the management held accountable and be penalized?
7. How can consumer be equipped with the tech savvy to preventing their data from being misused and manipulated?
8. can data encryption or even block chain resolve the above problems so data violation is virtually impossible?
9. How to prevent business from destroying evidence of data violation technically?
The above is just leading point, no need to be limited by it. My goal is to have a short thoughtful and constructive study on data security and whether or how consumer data be digital assets, and how to monetize it if feasible, i welcome academic inputs, business proposal, technical expertise, economic analysis. please feel free to share if you have done similar topic or thesis in this field as a Professor, PHD student and expert.
