In need of a database administrator and/or developer who can take over where our previous administrator left off. We have an existing database that tracks the cattle inventory for our farm/feedlot. We use eartags on the cattle that have EID chips in them. This allows us to scan the cattle in and out using a panel reader or a handheld device. Generally, we track the movement and location of cattle using a few unique identifiers. We also have specific reporting requirements that pull data from the database. Here are a few notes from the old administrator:
- C# Code for Handheld
- Compiled installer for Handheld
- DLL's for handheld
- Drivers for Handheld
- Database Setup Files for Handheld
- PHP Code for Web interface
- PHP Code for syncing data
- PHP Code for running the panels
- MySQL information
- MySQL backup from March 2017
This is a fairly complex setup because multiple languages and databases are used. Also, the syncing of the handhelds to the computer are specific to program. None of this is off the shelf. If you get someone to work on this, please have them reach out to me so I can help point out complexities and help them get started. It would be easy for someone to make a small change and make you guys dead in the water. I am happy to provide any assistance I can, but keep in mind that if someone else breaks it, fixing it might be complex.
If the system is not maintainable then we are looking to have a new system built and administered using more current/common programming languages.
