My daughter is part of a new microschool and I am helping them create an app to visually track the kids' progress through the curriculum. This school does not use a conventional grading system that most schools use (such as letter grades). Rather, the teachers have created a curriculum based on standards provided by school districts, and then the teachers track the students progress through the standards.
The main purpose of this app is to allow teachers to easily keep track of a student's progress through the curriculum. The secondary purpose is for parents to be able to follow along with how their child is progressing through the curriculum.
The design I'm envisioning uses bubbles that pop up when you zoom into different areas. Because of the heavy graphical component, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience making iPad apps and be able to show samples I can review.
The app will initially be created for the iPad. In addition a database will need to be created which will have the curriculum data as well as student, teacher, and parent data.
