I am writing to you because I have been asked for a quote for an e-learning platform where there will be both structured courses and free individual lessons.
Here are other examples that have been reported to me, regarding templates and functionality:

From the code, can you check if they use any platform or if it is developed from scratch?
These are the features that I was asked for for the platform:
Home page (focused on courses, the latest local and national news, the invitation to enrol)
About Us / Services (categories manageable by the administrator)
Training (courses calendar, courses detail page with available places, possibility to enrol and pay directly on line)
E-learning (course calendar, detailed pages with the possibility of using audiovisual content with tests, i.e. direct face-to-face with the teacher, always with tests at the end of the course. Once you have passed the test, or a group of tests, you will receive a certificate. If the certificate is subject to expiry, the user will automatically receive reminders by email 5 months before).
Download (download area for didactic material, divided by courses or groups of courses)
News (user manageable category)
Contacts
Payment systems: pay pal and credit card.
Access to courses: open to all those who sign up for the site.
Interface with user management: to verify the possibility of the latter to export xml or csv files.
The site, and the database of users, will in turn be interfaced with the mailing system.
The customer is a non-profit organization, I don't know if you have special rates.
