We are looking for a medical illustrator who loves cardiac anatomy to create the central figure for a clinical manuscript on placement of a metal reinforced plastic tube (the Avalon ECMO cannula) in the heart. This cardinal figure of the article will show the proper position of the cannula (in a 3D rendering of the heart with a cutaway view as if the anterior RA is missing) coursing from the SVC through the RA and ending in the IVC, with the outflow spout directed to the tricuspid valve. In addition, examples illustrating common improper positions of the cannula are needed. These examples will have more of a schematic look, focusing on landmarks of the superior and inferior right atrium, with the cannula too deep (tip and outflow spout in IVC), too shallow (tip in RA instead of IVC), malrotated (outflow directed towards interatrial septum), and crossing the tricuspid (with tip in RV). The sketches of the other project file show improper cannula examples in simplified diagrams with the SVC above the RA, the IVC below, the tricuspid to the right side of the RA, and the cannula in different improper positions.
