We're looking for a front-end developer to help with some of our current projects. We are a small design/dev agency that works on a wide range of projects. Some of the work is basic websites, eccommerce sites, web apps, and mobile apps. I'm currently handling most of the design and front-end work but would like to bring someone else in to speed things up.
We use Gulp, Pug/Jade, and Sass for most of our web projects so you would need to be comfortable working with these. It should go without saying but… Git for version control is also a must.
Our team is pretty laid back (deadlines are still important, though) and like to have fun with our work so you need to bring your sense of humor with you. You should also be able to communicate well in English and be available for Skype calls during active projects. Your time-zone isn't that important, we are used to working with people in a wide range of places.
You need to be able to write clean, ACCESSIBLE, and maintainable code that includes proper documentation. You also need to be able to solve problems and think for yourself. We'll help you however we can and make sure you have everthing you need for the work, but we don't have time to hold your hand or micro-manage :) Along those lines, if you see a better way to do something than how we are wanting to do it, we want you to speak up! We prefer opinionated people!
Bonus points if you are comfortable writing custom Node.js modules. (I got a project coming up for this and it's stressing me the heck out.)
Even more bonus points if you are able to open and work with .sketch files. But I realize you'll need a Mac for this so we won't hold it against you.
If you apply for the job, include a link or two to a Git repo of a project(s) that you worked on with Pug/Jade, Sass, and Gulp so we can see how you work.
If you weren't specifically invited to apply, then open your application by telling me if you prefer tabs or spaces and why. Because 90% of applicants never even read this far in the job posting.
And glory day, don't just copy/paste a generic application that includes a ton on un-related dev skills. It's so boring, and rude, and such a waste of time.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
