Perform successful system image restore from recent Windows 10 System Image on Dell Inspirion 15 5000 series

Hard Drive failure on a Dell Inspirion 15 5000 series laptop with a 2 TB SATA HDD which has left the laptop unbootable. There is a recent Windows 10 System Image taken from a continuously updated Windows 10 OS when the laptop was running (which means it is greater than 1709). There is a System Recovery CD which does boot the laptop into the Trouble Shooting options and System Image Restore. However, the System Image Restore continuously fails after myriad attempts. We suspect something must be done with DISKPART but not sure of exactly what to do. Also if the new HDD needs to have the same exact partition map as the previous disk, we do not know how to extract it from Windows System image. However, it could be something simpler to get the Windows System Image to be restored. We do not know the answer.
