Student Leasing Services (SLS) provides housing for university students in the United States of America. The organisation is currently going through a transition which will see us not only provide housing services for our guests and landlords but also outsource our services to support other businesses.
Additionally, the company will be moving into the social enterprise space with our talent division working to find remote work for victims of human trafficking and ideological extremism. This is a cause that leaders of the organisation feel passionate about and hope that SLS will be able to leave a positive impact in the world.
We need you to create a system of standard operating procedures to run a property management accounting department. Experience with Property Management (PM) accounting strongly preferred - that's different than real estate accounting; if you just have real estate accounting background but not PM accounting, do not apply.
Currently our AP Clerk and AR Clerk have dozens of accounting tasks that need to be completed every month, but they're not integrated. They were all created by non-accountants so there are probably several important accounting functions that we're not doing but we should be. We need a workflow created that includes all these tasks and adds several others in order to bring us in line with PM accounting best practices.
