We are looking for a talented, highly motivatedNetworkInfrastructureEngineer for a long term contract role with a Fortune 500 social media leader company in the bay area. Their primary function will be to assist in the design and implementation of complex networks both for Out-of-Band network deployments, in-Lab Test Networks, and Laboratory Access Networks.
Strong implementation experience in networking and wireless technologies is required
- Manage and maintain multi-vendor, multi-protocol lab network and backbone wired and backhaul wirelessnetworks;
- Define and develop optimizednetworkmonitoring systems
- Design and deploy newnetworkand tooling architectures
- Diagnose issues, report defects, and propose testing coverage changes.
- Develop automated methods to mitigate and remediatenetworkevents
- Analyze data to diagnose and identify root causes tonetworkissues
- Good communication skills including written is a must
- Technical Areas of focus (including but not limited to): BGP/TCP/IP protocols; MPLS/OSPF; System Virtualization Troubleshooting/traceroute, Linux (basic level)
Minimum Qualifications
- Understanding of routing and switching - strong expertise in forwarding and data planes
- Protocol knowledge in one or more of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, ISIS or similar routing protocols - understanding of typical configurations and performance tuning
- Excellent ability to design and implementnetworkdevice configuration for at least one vendor (Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Ubiquiti, Mikrotik, [etc.)
- Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and IPv6 - ability to tune and modify the configuration to enhance performance
- Ability to understand and mitigate complexnetworkhardware and topology failures
- Expert levelnetworkautomation experience - building robust systems, handling criticalnetworkfunctions like deployment, operations, and planning
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or ComputerEngineering, or equivalent experience
- Ability to developnetworkautomation tools in at least one language (Python)
