Senior Systems Engineer needed for Tier 3 escalation support issues and projects.
- Hours are as needed but anticipate 10 to 20 hours per week, long-term commitment.
- Must be able to respond within 2 hours or less for critical severity 1 issues 24 x 7 x 365, within 4 hours for severity 2 issues during 8x5 Mon to Fri Eastern US time, and within 8 hours for severity 3 issues 8x5 Mon to Fri.
Job Summary:
Provide act as final escalation point in a support team providing remote advanced server and network support for critical infrastructure issues. You will urgently analyze technical issues, troubleshooting over the phone and via remote log-in to remote management system (RMM). YOu will work in a variety of small business network & server environments (HyperV and VMWare). You must demonstrate superior communication skills to respond to diverse clients with urgent needs while recognizing they are looking for solutions, not technical explanations. The Senior Systems Engineer must possess and expert level of technical knowledge that can be applied to technical issues.
Network and server infrastructure/migration projects may be assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
-Education
oAssociates or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Technology, related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
- Technical Skills
o Proficiency in supporting Windows Server (2008 to 2019) infrastructure and Active Directory
o Previous Tier 3 or final escalation support experience
o Networks, internet connection issues, as well as be able to configure managed switches and routers.
o Firewall and VPN connectivity troubleshooting and configuration (Cisco, SonicWall)
oMCSE, VCP, CCNP preferred
- Other Skills & Abilities
o Previous experience with Labtech (Automate) and Connectwise Manage is preferred
Able to work independently and as part of a team
o Self Motivated

o Fluent spoken English required
