We are looking for Grafana experts to assist us in creating an SNMP monitoring visualization.
We are using TIG (Telegraf, InfluxDB, Grafana) stack to collect metrics and create monitoring dashboards.
Things i'd like to hear about you:
How familiar are you with monitoring systems?
With which monitoring system are you most familiar?
How familiar are you with SNMP?
Which DB do you recommend for this task?
How many years of Grafana experience have you got?
Additionally, I would like to have a quick chat about the project before we proceed.
This is what we would like to achieve: some of these goals we already completed.
Here is a list of tasks we want to accomplish as part of the project.
The scop is divided into 3 steps. This proposal is referring to steps 1-2, assuming these steps will be accomplished successfully we will proceed to step3 as a different millston.
Step 1 - Multiple collectors architecture
One config file for each site we monitor with all the best practices.
Collected data:
Switches (ICX and Unifi) - sysname, CPU, mem, uptime, temperature, int-bw, error, discards (int speed?)
FW (Fortigate) - sysname, CPU, mem, uptime, temperature, int-bw, error, discards (int speed?)
Dashboard: template dashboards need to make adjustments. You should produce a JSON file we could import to Grafana that include alerts.
Step 2 -
Thresholds
CPU
Traffic
Temp
Alerts include details (data rate units) and graph icon
Slack
Email
Step 3 -
Multisite overview dashboard - showing some statistics on the individual sites, like amount BW for each site, clicking on it will take you to the site dashboard.
Site page
Total traffic graph
Variables base filers- customer / customer-site /device
Per device page -
Uptime (singelstat)
Cpu (graph)
Mem temp (graph)
Temp (graph)
Interfaces traffic graph (medium icons)
Interfaces table- alias/description/in BW/out be/error/discards/speed. Option to drill-down by clicking alias/description values
Per int page (graphs)
Traffic graph bps
Error/discard graph
