Required software development freelancer for terraform with google cloud platform job

Hi, I need help on terraform with Google cloud Platform. I have created first vm using terraform in GCP. now when i create second VM terraform destroy first vm and creates second vm only.
How can i preserve both vm.
I dont want to copy and paste resources everytime. instead i want to edit same resource file.
I need this because i will use this functionality for different purpose.

I saw temporary workaround like deleting tfstate file. but drawback is i am not able to destroy infra.
