1. Migrate from old generation telephony to IP telephony.
From ISDN, DSL to VoIP +SIP( voice over internet). Initial hardware: any DSL routers, LAN RJ45 cable. Replace all types of analog and ISDN, PSTN, connections to IP
There are 3 components need to be set up: IP -PBX, phones (soft phones), and VOIP carriers' service which you can use to call other people in PSTN network(Public Switched Telephone Network)
2. Need to know:
- common infrastructure for telephony and data services.
- experience with SIP trunking (most common protocol for IP telephony)
