CarBid, as the name suggests, is a website for bidding on cars. There will be two types of users on the website: 1) customers wanting to buy a car, 2) dealerships, who access the details of the cars and quote a price in a maximum of 3 days (for example) from the time the request was made by the customers.
There are three main pages on the website:
1) The Main Customer Page
This will be the index. It consists of a simple multi stage form where customers enter the details of the car they want. This include, New or Used, Financed or Cash, Make, Model, Year, etc.
At the end of the form, the customer will write his/her, city, postal code and email address. The email address will be used to receive the offers made by the dealers.
2) The Dealership Dashboard
Each dealer will enter the dashboard with a unique user name and password. The dashboard will view all the car requests in real time, with the ability to filter based on the car make, model and postal code. If the dealer wants to quote a price on one of the cars in the list, they will select the car they want from the list and press "make a quote". This will take them to another form where they will fill in the price, the finance plan, the options of the car and any other advantages/ comments they want to tell the customer about.
The lowest price bided will be viewed on every car on the list for the dealerships to know the price they are competing with. Every dealer have the option to change the price and the details they entered, until the time bid ends.
The dashboard will contain the time remaining for the email to be sent (ex, 3 days from when the request was made)
The email address of the customers will not be visible for the dealers.
3) The Main Admin Page
This is a dashboard with one user name and password to access information like, the number of requests made, the number of quotes made by every dealer account and the quotes selected by the client for every request.
After three days, the website will automatically send the customer an email listing all the quotes made by the dealerships. If the customer chose (click on) one the deals presented in the email, the dealer who made the quote will receive an email containing the contact information of the customer who made the request, as well as the quote s/he made. The main admin page will also be updated to show that these actions (email sent to dealer) was made.
