I am a licensed Civil Engineer and has been working as a Construction Estimator for 5 years Now. My main tasks are:
-Read and interpret specifications, reports and drawings (structural plans, elevations, details, etc.) and determine materials required including quantities
-Mark-up plans for estimates
-Tabulate quantities from the takeoff
-Create and update quotes/budget proposals
-Project conversion once awarded
-Develop initial purchase orders
-Prepare cost sheets and handover documents
-Produce drawings (concept and final drawings) thru ArchiCAD software
-Tendering
-Formulate project variations
-Report progress
