ABOUT ME
An alumni from “ National Institute of Fashion Technology” based in Mumbai, India as a Fashion Designer, Fashion consultant, Fashion stylist and an Illustrator. My vision is to bring traditional beauty, modern look, ethnic influence and art on same platform of design and merge them with elegance and simplicity. The result of which is a fashion label called “Mahogany by Maitreyi". i am designing for past twelve years for International brands and designers from US, UK and European countries, which gave me an opportunity to learn and explore design in different aspect and to maintain a balance between design and customer demand. I believe that in fashion industry there is always a place for fresh breath, new trends and there is design in anything and everything. Always fascinated by the drapes, silhouettes, ancient embroideries, Indian textile, its richness and exquisite craftsmanship i strives to give my best in every creations. I love working with professionals across the world( individuals, boutique, brands, designers export houses etc.).
I loves travelling for my inspiration.
I have designed clothes for Portico LFW 2007 and LFW 2008. I have also assisted Reem Alasadi in her Tokyo Fashion Week Collection and also assisted Reem Alasadi new collection in year 2008, 2009, 2010,2012.
Visited Paris, London, Spain, Italy, China for design research and created self forecast. I have also visited different places in India and China (gounzhou, shou chin, Yue, Shanghai, Hongkong etc) for understanding the sourcing market and creating independent catalogue.
Label - Mahogany by Maitreyi
A label that evokes a fashionable style for women which is fresh, new and modern in design with a philosophy that being feminine is the beauty of every women. The label currently retails from India and also caters to client from US, UK, Australia and other countries. “Mahogany by Maitreyi” gives each wearer a fine sense of style and is for all fashion conscious women who want to be a part of present fashion trends.
