ABOUT ME

In addition to having a Postgraduate degree in GIScience in the Vrije Universiteit/Amsterdam, I have been working in the field of Cartography and GIS since 1990s in the fields of Census Mapping, Natural Resources Inventory and Mapping, Forestry. I have experience in spatial analysis, design and implementation of spatial databases, data modeling, image interpretation and GIS training amongst others. I have international experience in Asia (Afghanistan) and Africa (in the Great Lakes Region) and I am able to communicate very easily in English, French and Kiswahili. I have strong skills in the following GIS software packages:

• ArcGIS desktop 10.X, ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, Mapinfo, ArcPad for Mobile GIS, Geomedia Professional and other GIS software for satellite data processing such as Erdas Imagine and eCognition; ArcGIS Extensions;
• Skills in remote data collection platforms using smartphones
• Open source GIS software (OpenGeo suite, Quantum GIS)
• Strong knowledge Relational Database Management System using MS Access, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Skills in web mapping with ArcGIS Online;
• Comply with XLSForm standards to design tools for Online field data collection using Open Data Kit (ODK) using smartphones/tablets; Survey CTO, Survey123 for ArcGIS
• Strong experience in preparation of GIS training;
• Spatial Data Infrastructure
• Spatial modeling and skills in Python and R.
