Required Video Post Editing,Storytelling freelancer for Create a fun 7-minute video about COVID-19 quarantine for kids to post on their YouTube channel job

Posted at - Mar 13, 2024

SUMMARY
Transform raw content into a short video (-7 min) that performs well on YouTube). Draft due by Monday 12pm California time.

This can be a one-time project, or if it goes well and is within my budget, it could transfer into an ongoing engagement.

CONTEXT
My nephews are stuck at home during COVID-19 quarantine. For fun and education, I am teaching them how to launch a business. Our business is a YouTube channel. We've created 2 videos so far;
The content for our third video is quite promising: they raced go-carts in the street in front of their house. Our goal is to get at least 1,000 views on this video. We've already crated 2 drafts of the video to post on YouTube, but because we have this ambitious goal for this video, I'd like to hire a real video editor to make it more professional and engaging than we can on our own.

YOUR OBJECTIVE
Create an engaging video that will appeal not only to these kids' family and friends, but also to a wider audience.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Americans and Europeans looking for fun/uplifting content during COVID quarantine. (The kids' grandparents are Polish and don't speak English very well. They have requested subtitles)

SPECIFIC TASKS
- Recommend the ideal length for the video to perform well on YouTube
- Select the best raw content for the video
- Develop a storyline for the video
- Edit the video
- Add music, captions, titles, and anything else that will make the movie fun and engaging. Note: their preference is to use the James Bond and Pirates of the Caribbean theme songs as background music during the races.
- Include the kids' YouTube channel logo (and possibly the intro music they've been using with their logo so far: Cloud Chaser)

TIMELINE/MILESTONES

Milestone 1: This is important because one of our business goals is to post a video every week. I am meeting my nephews at 5pm PT. They think we are going to be finishing our draft and posting it. I would like to show them the professional video draft so they can get excited about making this video more ambitious, and so that they can provide feedback on what changes we would like.

Milestone 2: I will meet with my nephews at 5pm PT to gather their feedback on this draft.

Milestone 3: I will meet with my nephews at 5pm PT to post it on YouTube.

POTENTIAL FUTURE WORK
My nephews are really serious about this YouTube channel! If this goes well, I could see us continuing to work together in one or all of the following ways:

1) Edit/produce more videos like this one (1 video/week)
2) Meet with my nephews via Zoom to teach them how to make their videos as professional as yours (one-time session or weekly session)
3) Meet with my nephews via Zoom to provide lessons on how to film better content (e.g., how to enunciate, camera angles, etc)

RAW MATERIAL
- Raw video material and our draft videos will provided after conversation.

SUGGESTED STORY LINE (feel free to come up with something better)
- Kai: We're going to race go-carts today
- Kai wins the first race, even though Niko cheats!
- Father: This is so dangerous! Who came up with this? I did!
- How this works: you have to go from one cone to the other
- How this works: one go-cart has a weaker battery than the other
- Niko wins the second race, Kai is in the slow go-cart!
- Kai: I'm sad, give me a $1 to make me feel better

At some point figure out how to weave in:
- Their dog: because it's cute and people love dogs
- Their arguing: because it's funny and relatable for parents with kids
- Car interrupting the race on the street: because that's what life is like during COVID!

BUDGET
I am budget-oriented with this project since it's something personal and I don't want to spoil my nephews. I have no idea how much this work should cost, but I do know that I'm not willing to spend more than $100 on the first video. If this becomes something longer-term, I'd be looking at a budget of about $50/week max.
