Goal: set up a digital system to allow users to create their own 'life-Calendar' online or per app (iOS and Adroid). The user can then print out their own poster of their life (or the life of someone they want to display). Dozens of questions need answered by the user to gain the 'critical mass' necessary to make an interesting calendar. The answers then need to be slotted into the calendar design - various layouts will be on offer - and exported as a PDF.
This will be a stupendous project, but our funding is unfortunately limited. So you should be excited about the project itself as well. I am open to different technologies, but they should be secure and adaptable for different platforms.
FEATURES of the Life Calendar System:
-Scale the sizes depending upon how many years should be displayed
-Allow easy addition of different layouts and colour schemes. We intend to start with 4 layouts each with 4 colour schemes.
-Extra text entry in space at the bottom
- allow different ways to input data: such us fill in a form, or click on a square and add the data there.
- allow linking of pictures to the calendar. In the digital version (i.e. not printed out) the pictures could be accessible by clicking on the rectangle-date and viewing the pictures in the popup.
-allow the addition of famous events which might interest the user such as solar eclipses or crisis' such as the current epidemic.
- allow muliple users to work on one calendar such as when siblings want to create one for a parent.
- log-in system so the user can always come back and continue to work on the project.
- automatic calculations. Such as the input of a birth date of a parent or child automtically adds major birthdates to the calendar: 'Mum's 60th Birthday'.
- Allow teams to work on the calendars of famous people.
- create a connection to chosen poster printing services so that the user can, if they want to, have their posters printed at our chosen poster printing service.
- The user can click add major dates of celebrities or events they like: 'Frank Sinatra turned 80'; 'First landing on the moon'
- the resulting system has to work in all major modern browsers as well as Android and iOS apps.
