I'm looking for a legal advisor who will provide support on general business and legal matters.
A few months ago, I had a call with two partners interested in my services(marketing). They agreed to proceed with my services and paid the deposit as the intent to occupy my time, as well as forgoing other work. After two months of this agreement, they decided to break their cooperation and cancel the project.
My issue is that I didn't just lose time and the other projects I had as an option. But also the main thing that triggered my reaction and my willingness to take this further is that the cardholder of the deposit payment issued a refund...(It was a part of the agreement that payments are not refundable)
Why I believe I have a strong case:
1) The first call where they agreed on this cooperation with me was recorded( with the knowledge of all the parties, as it was a video conference)
2) After the call, I send them an email with the verbal agreement, and they paid the deposit after few days(proving that they agree with it, maybe?)
3) Issued a card refund/investigation.
4) Didn't receive any other payment since the deposit payment (2+ months)
5) The agreement was for three months minimum.
6) I have one of the partners on my side, ready to back me up(as he is willing to proceed with this project).
International law may apply as I am based in Finland and they are based in the US.
