I currently have a research study about a surgical procedure that I've recently developed and would like to carry out a statistical analysis regarding this study
This study involves 45 patients who had symptoms of GORD (Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease) and suffered from morbid obesity requiring a surgery for weight loss.
Ideally, morbidly obese patients with GORD symptoms would require a procedure called Roux-en Y gastric bypass to have these symptoms resolved. This procedure has many drawbacks, so we were able to offer them a sleeve gastrectomy with an added procedure called 'cardioplasty' to relieve their symptoms. 43 of the 45 had resolved symptoms (proved on gastrographin imaging) while one patient had no improvement in symptoms and one patient had worsened symptoms. However, these patients have different BMIs and age.
I'd like to determine the significance of this study (p value and confidence interval).
