ABOUT ME

I have been a fulltime wife and mother since 2008 when my kids and I joined my husband in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I decided to stay home to attend to my family, especially my two kids who were in their formative years.

The role of a fulltime homemaker is both challenging and fun. Apart from the daily household chores, I was my sons’ tutor during their preschool and elementary years. Making exam reviewers and test questionnaires for all subjects was overwhelming. However, it turned out to be a learning experience for me along the way. I learned new things from their lessons in school as well as from doing web research to supplement whatever is taught in school. On the other hand, as a wife, I handle and manage the family’s finances. I make sure that our budget is on track. I also stand as my husband’s co-leader who shares the responsibilities of the father in rearing the children.

In my ten years of being a fulltime homemaker, the absence from the workforce made me a better person. It enhanced my planning, time-management and organizational skills. It taught me to be more resourceful, flexible, patient, understanding, empathic and sensitive. I believe that these will equip me as I decide to start working again.
