PCB design using altium designer,fusion360 or orCad. The first step in the design includes research. The proposed circuity or application has to be feasible and the right components have to be selected to help achieve the functionality of the circuit. The second step includes testing and breadboarding. In this case the MCU like AVR microcontrollers, STM microcontrollers,RASP,FPGA,PIC,C2000 are programmed in their respective IDE to help achieve the functionality. Manual connections is done until the desired functionality is achieved. Several iterations are done in this step to ensure that the correct design will be implemented. The next step involves design of the schematic using the above software, followed by PCB routing. The PCB could be multilayer to the levels of 16 layers depending on board application. Thereafter manufacturing files are availed together with the BOM to aid in the manufacture and assembly.

Project scope. The buyer should clearly describe the problem functionality of the required electronic application. Most of it goes like this. 'I want an automatic door opening system. 'This is clear enough to allow me to propose available solution and then the buyer can easily make his/her own choice.
For a buyer with appreciable technical knowledge I would expect an elaborate specifications of the devices that you would want used in the design and application.
